From the start, she worked with our busy work schedules and ensured we had a full understanding of the sales plan. We were selling an old home with a very specific buyer and operating in a softening housing market with rising interest rates. We were also somewhat attached to the home--it was our first, and we renovated it down-to-the-studs ourselves. The first time we went under contract, some things came up in the inspection that we hadn't been aware of, and that were more than the potential buyer was willing to take on. We REALLY got to see what B is made of the second time we were under contract, when the potential buyer asked for a huge price reduction during the option period. I started my home search looking for a home less than 10 years old - either close to my work or in Hays County. It didn't matter to Beverly that I wasn't definitive about location, she provided me with listings North, East and South that were within my parameters. I found several homes to my liking, but after placing an offer on one, the inspection revealed problems I was not willing to deal with. We started again - I ended up deciding to purchase a spec home that was still in the permit stage. Several times during the negotiation with the builder's representative, I was ready to walk away. The sale of my home in Buda (listed with another agent) was closing the next month and I needed to find a house to lease/rent in Austin.
