About Bill
Bill Devlin, a lifelong New Orleanian, has an MA in English and began his career teaching writing at Xavier University. He soon switched professions and became a programmer at a local software development company, and in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Bill moved into management and remained in that role until the end of 2023. His duties included interfacing with clients, project and budget management, writing proposals, reviewing contracts, and human resources management.
After 25 years with the same company, Bill made another career change and joined the Compass team, while still providing other services via his LLC (see devlindata.com). For fun, Bill plays soccer and chess and a number of musical instruments, and he enjoys taking his dog Spider for outings on evenings and weekends. He has a son who recently graduated from LSU and another attending Rochester Institute of Technology in western New York.
