BJ Linnenbrink helps Triangle families decide whether moving is actually the right answer before they make expensive mistakes. Whether that means moving, renovating, downsizing, helping aging parents transition, or staying put, his approach is centered on helping clients find the right solution for their family and goals.

BJ serves buyers and sellers across Durham, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and the surrounding Triangle communities and has called the area home for more than a decade. His local knowledge, combined with a practical and analytical approach, helps clients navigate major decisions with clarity and confidence.

Before real estate, BJ spent 17 years as a Division I collegiate coach at Duke University and the University of Notre Dame. He was also a Division I athlete at Florida State University, where he still holds the Seminoles’ school record in the weight throw. Coaching taught him that good decisions come from preparation, understanding tradeoffs, and staying focused when emotions are high. He brings that same mindset to helping clients navigate one of the biggest financial decisions they will make.

BJ lives in the Triangle with his wife Monica and their son James, along with their dog Scout and cat Shimmer. Outside of real estate, he enjoys coaching youth sports, staying active, and spending time with family. He is also a certified personal trainer.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Sports Management from Florida State University and a Master of Science in Physical Education from Emporia State University.
