Bob Beckstrom brings to Real Estate a diverse and successful background in real estate, construction, publishing, education, and community involvement.
Bob has been selling real estate in Napa Valley since 2003. His real estate practice focuses on close scrutiny of market trends, strong communication skills, and a love of Napa Valley land and homes gained from living in the St. Helena community for 21 years. He combines these skills and experiences to give his clients the knowledge, care, and professionalism they expect.
Bob also worked for 25 years in construction as a licensed building contractor, including new home construction and all types of remodeling. He has broad experience working with owners/clients, architects, building inspectors, and sub-contractors.
His career also includes 14 years writing and editing home improvement books as a freelance author and editor, including seven years as managing editor of the successful Ortho Books home improvement line for Chevron, Monsanto, and Scott. Among his 15 titles as author are Ortho’s Home Improvement Encyclopedia and Decks & Patios for Dummies. He also edited 53 titles on a broad range of home improvement topics.
Prior to his writing and construction careers he taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grades in San Francisco public schools for 10 years. He was one of seven founding teachers of Rooftop Elementary School, a highly successful program that was rated among 117 best schools in America by Redbook magazine. He still maintains close contact with the teaching profession, being married to an outstanding school principal in the Napa Unified School District.
Bob is an active member of the St. Helena Kiwanis Club and the St. Helena Chamber of Commerce -- where he served as Chairman of the Board for 2008. He also participates in community service, presently as a volunteer at Rianda House Senior Center. He enjoys growing cabernet sauvignon grapes in his hobby vineyard, spending time with his three grandchildren, and traveling with his wife, Linda.
