About Brian

Brian Dougherty is a Managing Director in the Boston office of Compass and Head of The Private Brokerage team. Responsible for more than $500 million of sales, he has been profiled in Boston Magazine for the past 4 years as one of the top producing agents in the region and is often featured in the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, Forbes and other distinguished publications. In 2018, 2021, and again in 2022, Brian and his partner Nick handled some of the highest residential transactions in Massachusetts.

Prior to joining Compass, Brian was a partner at Robert Paul Properties from 2014 until early 2019 when he sold his interest in the business. He previously served as the Director of National Sales for a subsidiary of Millennium Partners where he managed a 40 person salesforce. Prior to Millennium Partners, Brian was Director of North America Business Development for GROUP RCI and The Registry Collection, an international portfolio of private residence clubs. From 2005 to 2007, Brian was a real estate sales advisor with DPS Development Company, where he advised individuals and families on the purchase of luxury real estate at developments in the Turks & Caicos and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Brian serves on the Advisory Board for the Top Network (TAN) which is a membership of the top 10% producing agents in the State, in addition to being a founding member of The Private List (TPL) which facilitates high-end, off-market transactions for clients preferring discretion. He previously served as a member of the finance committee for Governor Charlie Baker. Brian and his partner Nick live in Cohasset with their son Henry after having lived in Boston’s Back Bay and South End neighborhoods for many years. Passionate about design and preservation, Brian and Nick have renovated and redeveloped several significant properties throughout the years including a boutique inn on Cape Cod.
