When asking Chris Roy what he attributes the successful start in his career too, he’s quick to note the environment that he grew up in. “I couldn’t imagine having such a productive start without my family’s love, support, and vision,” says Roy. His family worked together as large-scale power-plant developers, and constantly discussed the importance of negotiations and relationships in business.
“At a young age, I witnessed their keen understanding of how business and strategy needs to be blended with integrity and relationships beyond the deal,” says Roy. “Family discussions of negotiations, relationships, business practices, contracts, and business strategies were, and still remain, a part of my life and are discussed on a regular basis.” For Roy, finding professions in which he could apply everything he had learned was a priority. His skillset and his family background mesh exceptionally well with his industry, and beyond that, residential real estate offers Roy the opportunity to work on multiple types of deals with different ranges of complexity and collaborate with a wide range of individuals and groups with different personalities, levels of experience, and goals.
“There is, of course, problem solving in every deal, but it’s in the more complex real estate deals that I feel I offer the most value and am able to use all I’ve learned,” says Roy. His closeness with his family gives him a tremendous support system from a business perspective, and he consults with them on a regular basis. “When I work with someone, they are not only getting me, but everyone in my support system as well,” says Roy. These factors have given him and his clients a distinct advantage within the industry.
He is proud to say he has successfully sold every home that he has been entrusted to represent.
