Christine McCarthy came to Houston from Canada in 1996, beginning her career as a Registered Nurse in cardiovascular intensive care at Methodist Hospital. The discipline of that work ā trust, discretion, and clear communication under pressure ā remains the foundation of how she serves clients today.
Over two decades, Christine managed her family's relocations across four continents, navigating seven personal residences from West Africa to Southeast Asia to Perth and back ā through Cameroon, Angola, Thailand, and Western Australia ā before repatriating to Houston. That breadth of lived experience has developed a refined eye for builder quality, structural integrity, and the real-world complexity of relocation at every stage of a global career.
A committed community servant, Christine served as Vice President of Membership for both the Northland Christian School Booster Club and the Petroleum Women of Perth ā each for two years ā building networks and fostering connection across very different communities on two continents. She and her family were licensed foster parents through DePelchin Children's Center in Houston for two years, and similarly through Australia's foster care system in Perth, and she remains active in homeless outreach across the city.
Together with her sister Lori Tell, Christine co-founded Altura Realty Group at Compass to serve Houston's inner-loop, suburban, and corporate relocation clients ā with particular focus on the medical and energy professional communities that define so much of the city.
