Christy Berry

As the co-founder of Compass DFW, it goes without saying that Christy Berry is a valuable piece of the Dallas real estate puzzle. A fashionable force to be reckoned with, her perspective and discretion are respected by clients and colleagues alike. This success, however, was not serendipitous. Berry was born in the Midwest to an avid antiques collector with a passion for redoing homes. With both an MBA and a Ph.D. in Family Studies, Berry is uniquely qualified to navigate complex situations that arise when buying or selling a home. Her business background lends itself to quick but careful analyses that help her clients make confident, informed decisions.

Berry started in real estate more than 18 years ago. After 10 years with Sotheby's, she started the first boutique real estate agency in Dallas in over 20 years—The Collective Residential—but in an ever-changing market and Berry being one that always strives to evolve and raise the real estate bar for herself and her clients, she observed the New York-based Compass brand and broached the idea of opening a local office. A year later, the CEO of Compass called her and asked her to open the Dallas office. The rest is history.

In addition to serving the DFW market, Christy also specializes in second homes in Harbor Springs, Michigan. Having grown up there in the summers, it was a natural move to obtain her license there. She understands the intricacies of waterfront properties, as well as all the private associations the area offers.

When Berry isn’t busy at work, she fills her cup by pouring into others’ to better the city that she loves. She is a current member of The Crystal Charity Ball which provides millions of dollars in philanthropic aid to the children of Dallas. She is a Board Member of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, and former Board Member of The Dallas Zoo, and the Museum of Natural History. She is a mother of five and a grandmother of two. She and her husband of 42 years enjoy nothing more than hosting in the comfort of their own home and hope to find you a treasured space in which you feel that same joy.
