"Eleven years ago in August, my husband's company relocated from Maryland to Austin. We both grew up in Maryland/Virginia area, and all of our extended family lived nearby. We left our oldest daughter in Carolina, and our middle daughter was starting her senior year in college. Our son was starting his senior year of HS in the fall. We love the city and have always talked of moving here, but when the time came to choose an area to live in, we realized how little we actually knew about it. Thank goodness for Chuck! From the very beginning he was so friendly and welcoming we knew that if he was indicative of the people here that we would be very happy. Because we did not have a narrowed-down area or neighborhood to concentrate on, we ran Chuck ragged driving all over the western side of the city from Lakeway to Belterra. He was happy to do it and his amiable mood never faltered. I know that we wore him out each time we visited. We tried to pack as many showings as possible into one or two days because that was all we had before we had to drive back to Dallas. Most of the time our children were with us and Chuck was fantastic with them. My mother has been with Ebby Halliday for 30 years, and I know what Realtors do and do not do. For starters he let us park our 24-foot moving truck in his own driveway and keep our extremely nervous and smelly cat in his home while he took us to lunch and to sign our papers.
