"If you're thinking about listing your homeLet me begin by saying I (Jan) was in Real Estate for approximately 10 years prior to retiring so I have very strong opinions and expectations about Realtors and home buying and selling. We interviewed four from different companies when we were selling our home on Lake Wylie. Two were long time well respected acquaintances and one was a relative. My husband and I did not agree on who came in second or third in our interview process but we completely agreed on who was first choose Cindi Hastings and Cottingham Chalk and could not have been happier! We were in an unusual situation and I'm only saying this to establish a point but our home was being listed for several hundred thousand more that any home on Lake Wylie had ever sold for and our Realtor choice was crucial.We wanted a written marketing plan with specifics not just a verbal summary of "what we always do".Cindi's was exactly that and on point and specific for what it would take to sell our home.We wanted marketing materials that were classy and quite honestly perfect and the photographer she utilized for our books and video was amazing! The marketing department at Cottingham Chalk is a huge plus also. No other companies we interviewed had one and they do so much. We are both very detail oriented and maybe borderline just picky people. Our materials were stunning!We wanted advice about anything that needed to be changed removed or updated and not just to hear "Oh your house is beautiful don't worry". It's a competitive market and we wanted to shine. She very nicely told us what to do replace or change to make our home as marketable as possible and her advice was "dead on".We wanted our agent to represent only us in the transaction and we didn't want him/her to participate in dual agency. In dual agency they represent nobody and for the commissions paid we wanted our agent to be on our side only we wanted professional advice and we wanted an experienced negotiator. That was a very big point for us. Before we had a chance to discuss this with Cindi she disclosed that she doesn't participate in dual agency. That makes all the difference in the world. Hire someone to work for you and you only.Cindi is a bit of a workaholic and was always there when we asked her to be answered calls promptly is completely organized and everything happened exactly the way she said it would and in the time-frame she promised.Our home sold in two weeks for more than any other Realtor even wanted to list it for. A lot happens from the time the house is under contract until it closes and she was "on it". She kept the buyer's agent in line and on task and was willing to help in any way possible.We are so happy we chose Cindi Hastings to sell our home and have sung her praises to several of our close friends as they planned to list their homes.
