About Claire
Claire Evans is a seasoned real estate professional with more than a decade of experience representing buyers and sellers across New York City and Shelter Island. For the last several years she has been a core member of a boutique real estate brokerage, where she has built a reputation for discretion, market insight, and a data-driven approach to high-value residential transactions. Her portfolio includes successful sales of waterfront homes on Shelter Island, modern new construction, historic estates, and luxury apartments across Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Claire’s earlier career in financial services and law gives her clients a distinct advantage. Before entering real estate full-time, she worked in the New York Attorney General’s Office as an Assistant Attorney General in the Charities Bureau and later served as Executive Director of charitySTRONG. Her legal and governance background enables her to navigate complex contracts, co-op boards, estate sales, and due-diligence processes with confidence and precision.
In addition to her real estate practice, Claire has served on several international nonprofit boards and was a member of the New York City Bar’s Committee on Nonprofit Organizations. She holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and a B.A. from Georgetown University.
Whether advising first-time buyers, representing luxury waterfront sellers, or guiding investors through 1031-exchange opportunities, Claire brings calm expertise, sophisticated negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the New York and East End markets. Claire is a lifelong New Yorker, born and raised in SoHo. She currently splits her time between Manhattan and Shelter Island.
Claire is a member of Nick Gavin Properties.
