Cobian & Co. is continuing a family tradition of compassionate interactions in residential and commercial real estate that was established in 1999. Debbie Cobian and her mom, Elaine Johnson, created a foundation of service and systems. In 2020, Elaine retired from the real estate business and the timing was perfect, as Jakob Cobian had just graduated from UW-Whitewater and was excited to start a career in real estate. 

Upon joining Compass in 2021,  Jakob and Debbie formed a Team 'Cobian and Company".  We are delighted to have seasoned and professional agents LuAnn Smith, Marcy Hammett, Janet Giovannetti, Gareth Cole and Lana Marjanovic on our team offering endless experience and knowledge of Lake Geneva and the surrounding areas. 

Our team motto is “Less Stress. More Success.” Being a Realtor® means more than selling homes. Debbie Cobian, Team Leader, licensed in Wisconsin and Illinois, has been marketing and selling real estate since 1999 and has consistently been in the top 5% of local Realtors. She was voted as the ‘Best Agent in Geneva Lakes Area’ in 2021 and 2025,  one of the Best Agents of Walworth County in 2021 and several past recognitions as the ‘Best Realtor® in Lake Geneva in 2008, 2009 & 2017’. As much as the public recognition and awards are flattering, the best accomplishment is always a satisfied client and Debbie strives to exceed each families’ expectations in their real estate transactions, offering communication and technology to create a stress-free experience. 

Jakob Cobian, Team Member, has been around real estate since he was in elementary school, and while some people grow up learning a second language, Jakob says his second language was real estate! All the negotiations, strategies and processes have been within an earshot of his most formative years. He strives to have an exhaustive knowledge of all aspects of our market, always seeking new and challenging experiences. Jakob’s goal is to make every call, text, email and handshake get you one step closer to reaching your goals.

We continue to use the tools and systems she established through her 20 year career with us. Cobian & Co. welcomes a new chapter as they expand to use the Compass platform of innovative marketing strategies and cutting edge technology to enhance the marketing and customer experience in the Lake Geneva, Walworth County and Southeastern Wisconsin area.
