For nearly two decades, Christy Berry has built her real estate career around a simple belief: a home is deeply personal, and the best representation should be, too.

As co-founder of Compass DFW, Christy has played a meaningful role in shaping Dallas real estate while building a business based almost entirely on relationships and referrals. Her clients value not only her knowledge of the market, but her judgment, discretion and highly personal approach. Christy brings an unusual combination of business acumen and insight into people to every transaction. With both an MBA and a Ph.D. in Family Studies, she understands that real estate decisions are rarely just financial. A move may involve a growing family, a relocation, changing schools, downsizing, divorce, aging parents or simply the beginning of a new chapter. Her ability to understand both the numbers and the people behind them allows her to guide clients through complicated decisions with clarity and confidence.

Her Dallas roots run deep. Having lived for decades in both the Park Cities and Preston Hollow and raised five children in Dallas, Christy knows the city in a way that cannot be learned from market reports alone. She understands the nuances between neighborhoods—and often between individual streets—the schools, architecture, lifestyle and relationships that shape value. Her long standing connections with clients and fellow agents also give her insight into opportunities that may never reach the broader market.

Christy's career began more than 18 years ago and includes a decade with Sotheby's, followed by the founding of The Collective Residential, the first boutique real estate agency established in Dallas in more than 20 years. Always looking ahead, she became interested in the New York-based Compass model and began exploring what it could bring to Dallas. A year later, Compass CEO called and asked her to open the company's Dallas office. The rest, as they say, is history.

Away from real estate, Christy's interests in art, fashion, gardens, architecture and interiors naturally influence the way she sees both homes and the communities around them. She is a member of Crystal Charity Ball, a board member of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, and has previously served on the boards of the Dallas Zoo and Museum of Natural History.

But home remains at the center of Christy's own life as well. She is the mother of five, a grandmother of three, and she and her husband of 43 years love nothing more than gathering family and friends around their own table.

That may be why Christy has never viewed real estate as simply buying and selling houses. It is about people, relationships and helping someone find the place that feels right for whatever comes next.
