I grew up in the farm community of Dike, Iowa, where I learned early that there’s no substitute for hard work. Before real estate, I was a construction manager in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area, overseeing more than 200 new homes from groundbreaking to final walkthrough. That job taught me two things I still rely on every day: clear communication, and how to manage a complex process from start to finish.
In 2008, my wife Amber and I moved to Whidbey Island looking for adventure and time outdoors. The Island’s natural beauty and slower pace drew us in, and today we’re raising our four children here.
I’ve continued to grow my business every year, and I’m now the #1 ranked broker on Whidbey Island by total sales volume since 2008, with more than $300 million in closed sales. My focus is consulting. I want every client to make decisions based on accurate data and an experienced read of a property’s condition and value in today’s market.
I’m also an active real estate investor. I’ve done long-term rentals, short-term rentals, remodel-to-sell, build-to-sell, and live-in remodels as personal homes. I believe the broker advising you on an investment should be an active participant in the market, not just an observer.
Most recently, I joined forces with my colleague and friend Josh Murphy to form The Whidbey Collective, and our group is now proud to be part of Compass. We brought together like-minded professionals who share one goal: consistent, high-level service for every client. For sellers, that means sharp pricing analysis, thoughtful home preparation, and strong marketing, backed by Compass’s tools and reach. For buyers, it means a broker who advocates for what you need in a home and knows this market well enough to help you make a sound financial decision.
Thinking about buying, selling, or investing on Whidbey? Let’s talk. I’d love to help you make your next move with confidence.
