We are an investor friendly real estate team in Chicago. Our specialty is 2 to 4 unit buildings and house hacking, the ones where you live in one unit and rent the others. We have been buying them here for twenty years and we own them ourselves. Most of America says duplex. In Chicago we say two flat, and the two flat is the building we know best.
My wife and I started the same way. We bought a building, lived on one floor, and a renter on the other floor helped pay our mortgage. We rehabbed that building and sold it, and we kept going. Since then we have bought, rehabbed and sold dozens of properties in Chicago and the suburbs, and we still own and manage rentals here.
That is why we read a building the same way we read our own. When we walk one with you, we show you how to run the numbers yourself, so you can spot a good building on your own and say why it is good.
Some of our clients are buying their first property. Some are on their tenth. Both are welcome, and there is no dumb question.
