About Dana
Dana Schechtman has wide-ranging expertise across all aspects of real estate. Whether working with seasoned investors or with people looking to buy their first home, Dana fully commits himself to his clients’ interests as though they were his own. Dana holds a degree in Real Estate from NYU, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was the President and co-founder of the school’s first Undergraduate Real Estate Club. Dana believes that up-to-date knowledge is a key factor to his and his clients’ success, so he regularly studies market information, hones his creative and critical thinking skills, and attends specialty real estate seminars.
Since 2005, Dana has worked on a wide array of real estate projects in New York and Florida. He has helped facilitate many complex deals for both individuals and businesses including distressed property mitigations, non-traditional financing arrangements, 1031 exchanges, and other complicating factors. For several years, he consulted in the business sector, delivering site-specific and area-survey market analyses, acquiring property for investment groups, and overseeing extensive renovations of both residential and commercial properties.
Throughout his career, Dana has been recognized with multiple awards for excellence in his field. He has also established himself as an expert problem solver in sorting through some of the most complex and challenging scenarios. Dana has lived in Manhattan since 2001 and has been a resident of Harlem since 2007. He has an intimate knowledge of Harlem’s many micro-neighborhoods and the amenities they offer, as well as upcoming developments and changes in the pipeline. Dana actively participates in community and neighborhood meetings and donates his time and input for continued progress in bettering his neighbors’ quality of life.
Dana has had a lifelong passion for the arts, particularly theater and performing arts. Whenever possible, he lends his support to many burgeoning art organizations, including the New Brooklyn Theater where he was honored to act as their dedicated real estate consultant. Dana also volunteers with animal rescue shelters and organizations. In his free time, Dana enjoys hiking, whitewater rafting, and practicing yoga with his wife and his dog, Taz. He also loves to compete in extreme obstacle course races and completes several every year around the country.
