In 2000 Darcy began investing in real estate and rehabilitating
older homes in Colorado. Years later she moved to Arizona
where she sold high-end homes in North Scottsdale, Carefree

Darcy and her husband Greg welcomed a daughter in 2007 and

"We LOVE Darcy! I met her at an open house for one of her sellers in March 2019, nearly a year before we reached out to ask her to become our agent. My husband and I were looking very casually at that time, just to familiarize ourselves with the market. When it came time to seriously start looking, I picked her (I'd met other agents as well during open houses but hadn't really clicked with any of them).
I think in general we were extremely picky and very curious about the entire home buying process. I spent hours on the internet to learn more about the "gotchas," read through countless local news articles to learn more about the neighborhoods we were thinking of buying in, went on tons of reconnaissance missions to assess everything from the number of cars parked permanently on the street to the distance of the electricity poles and street lamps from the homes. We checked crime rates, looked at a flood maps analyzer for the next 100 years (check, the bay is sinking, you don't want to buy a house that's going to literally be underwater in 50 years), researched how much a 5g antennae lowers the value of a property (5%), and more. I know so many weird things I will probably never use again, like the lifespan of reinforced concrete (70-80 years). All that is to say - I'm probably one of the most neurotic buyers out there, and Darcy still impressed me.
You want an agent who will be honest with you, who will pull for you, and who will put your interest firsts. You also want an agent who is likeable, gets along with other agents, and is friendly with the community, because this is the only way you're going to get access to the kind of critical information that leads to a successful negotiation. We've won bids $100k under list price, and $50k under the eventual sales price (we had to break contract). Towards the end of the process, we knew the difference between overpaying, a fair price, and a steal, just with the information Darcy was able to pull out of the other agents, the list price, and local knowledge of the specific neighborhood we were looking in. Which brings me to my next point - you want an agent who is knowledgeable about the specific neighborhoods you're looking to buy in, and about the area you live in in general. Otherwise, you won't know if the sellers will consider your offer an insult or a godsend, among other things.
Darcy has all of these qualities, in addition to having unimpeachable integrity. My husband even gave her a catchphrase that she doesn't know about: "My name is Darcy, and I don't gamble."
We wholeheartedly recommend her, and wish her the best. The saddest part about getting our new house was not being able to hang out on weekends anymore. We hope to stay in our new house for a long time. If she hasn't retired by the time we're ready to sell it, we definitely plan on calling Darcy again for our next chapter :)"
