My name is Darian Cochran, and I am the Co-Owner and Principal Broker of Avenue Realty, LLC. My wife, Amy, and I began our real estate careers in 2004 and founded Avenue Realty with a simple goal: create a client-first real estate company that puts people ahead of transactions.
Today, Avenue Realty Group is an award-winning company in the area. Voted the Best Real Estate Firm, Daily Progress, from 2018 - 2025, we are home to 26 outstanding agents serving Charlottesville, Central Virginia, and the Shenandoah Valley. We assist more than 350 clients each year and have helped over 5,000 families and individuals achieve their real estate goals since opening our doors. During that time, our team has surpassed $1.5 billion in closed sales volume. While we are proud of those numbers, what matters most to us is the opportunity to serve the communities where we live, work, and raise our families.
Before entering real estate, I built my career in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, serving as a Director of Financial Management for a $250 million organization. Managing significant financial resources taught me the importance of attention to detail, strategic decision-making, accountability, and responsible stewardship of every dollar. Those skills continue to benefit my clients as they navigate one of the most important financial decisions of their lives.
My experience at several large real estate firms helped shape the vision for Avenue Realty. I often found that the focus was placed on transactions and company profits rather than the individual needs of the client. Amy and I believed there was a better way. We founded Avenue Realty to provide a more personalized experience—one where every client receives thoughtful guidance, honest advice, and exceptional service from start to finish.
I have never viewed myself as a salesperson. Instead, I see my role as that of a trusted advisor and consultant. My responsibility is to listen carefully, understand my clients' goals, anticipate challenges before they arise, and provide the information they need to make confident decisions. Whether responding to a late-night question, meeting early in the morning to view a property, or helping navigate a complex negotiation, my commitment remains the same: to put my clients' interests first and ensure they feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout the entire process.
