I’ve never been particularly interested in real estate as a sales business. I’m interested in the real estate itself. 

My path here wasn’t exactly direct. I spent the first part of my career in hospitality, eventually running a boutique hotel in Seattle, before an unexpected turn put me alongside a pair of general contractors who taught me, hands on, how houses actually go together. That led to my wife and me taking on a live-in house renovation, rebuilding it from top to bottom with my hands and her designs. Getting my real estate license to sell it, I began pursuing investment properties to flip, and naturally found my way into real estate as a broker. Somewhere along this path, I realized that combination gave me a very different way of approaching the business. 

Today, I approach each property as a broker, investor and general contractor—considering its potential, the cost of improvements and whether the numbers make sense. I like figuring things out, whether that means working through construction questions, finding a creative way to structure a deal or telling a client candidly when I’d walk away. I enjoy helping someone buy their first house just as much as I enjoy working through an investment, renovation project, unusual property or complicated sale. The common thread is that there is something to solve. 

Seattle has been home for most of my life, and today my wife and I are raising our two kids here. I know this region not only as a broker, but as someone who has lived, worked, invested and built here. Real estate is a big enough decision that I think clients deserve someone who will have an opinion, not simply facilitate theirs. My job is to understand what you're trying to accomplish, tell you what I see, and give you the kind of candid perspective I’d want on my own side of the table. The goal is for you to make your decision with confidence, without wondering what you might have missed.
