About David
David has always had a passion for real estate and selling luxury homes. He attributes his sales success to providing exceptional personal attention to his clients – which they expect and deserve.

David is a 4th generation San Francisco native who grew up in an ‘insurance family’, the esteemed Costello Insurance Group. David spent most of his professional career as an executive in the Property & Casualty Insurance business, where he created exclusive programs for high valued homes and commercial property portfolios.

In 1998, David was able to secure $1 Billion in financial backing from Lloyd’s of London allowing him to create the Sterling homeowner’s insurance program for luxury homes and estates throughout California. David later became a top producing agent with AIG Private Client Group, and has served on AIG’s Advisory Board in New York, as well as representing AIG as brand ambassador in the US and Europe.

David’s unparalleled success in the insurance business has provided him with an extensive network of high net worth individuals who rely on his expertise in luxury real estate, investment, and asset protection. Building on years of trust and outstanding service, David has expanded his client offerings to include real estate sales of high valued homes and luxury condo developments. He is able to utilize his extensive experience and tough negotiating skills to deliver consistently superior results.

David is proud to be associated with Compass Real Estate, whose highly respected brand and vast marketing network is a perfect fit for his existing affluent clientele. Being based in San Francisco is a perfect nexus for sales ranging from the San Francisco peninsula to the Napa Valley.

David attended St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco, and has a uniquely intimate knowledge of the city’s diverse and vibrant neighborhoods.

David graduated from Pepperdine University, attending both the Malibu, California and Heidelberg, Germany campuses. David has resided throughout the Bay Area, including Los Altos Hills on the peninsula, Danville/Blackhawk in the East Bay, Tiburon in Marin County, and San Francisco where he currently lives. David is a pillar of his community, and is an active supporter of many charitable events in the city.

David also writes a weekly column for the San Francisco Examiner, having written over 65 articles on real estate and the economy. David is the proud father of 3 children, all of which live close by in the Bay Area. In addition to real estate David’s passions include travel, fine dining, wine and spending weekends in the Napa Valley.
