Derrick Dameron

Raised in Dallas, Texas, Derrick developed a deep connection to land and agriculture from an early age while working with his father at Clear Creek Pecan Plantation and Clear Creek Longhorns. He witnessed firsthand the innovation and care behind ranch operations, including his father’s groundbreaking work cloning Starlight, the world’s longest registered longhorn.

After graduating from The Citadel in 1997, Derrick entered the energy sector with a North Central Texas oil and gas firm. In 2002, he launched a successful career as a drilling contractor, allowing him to collaborate with landowners across Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. His work fostered a broad understanding of land use, development, and resource management.

In 2021, Derrick joined the Monning Ranch Group at Compass. Two years later, in 2023, his team transitioned to Icon Global, an international marketing and brokerage firm. After two successful years with Icon Global, Derrick and his longtime friend and business partner returned to Compass Ranch and Land as Principals of the newly formed Monning Dameron Ranch Group.

Derrick specializes in ranch brokerage, land consulting, and strategic development. Known for his integrity, regional expertise, and deep industry connections, he offers invaluable insight to clients looking to buy, sell, or develop premier ranch and land properties. A lifelong outdoorsman, Derrick enjoys hunting and fishing. He currently lives in Fort Worth, Texas, with his wife of over 20 years and their daughter, Olivia.
