About Dexter
Hello and welcome! My name is Dexter Blanchard. I was born and raised in Southwest Louisiana in a town called Breaux Bridge, which is the crawfish capital of the world. Life in Breaux Bridge is all about Cajun and Zydeco music, Cajun ancestry, and experiencing the simple joys of life. In Cajun culture, you grow up with a sense of community, family, hard work, helping your neighbors and of course a lot of good food and drink. The sense of home and community that are at the heart of Cajun culture is what I work to help my clients find.

I attended University of Louisiana in Lafayette while serving in the National Guard and working for the local Anheuser-Busch wholesaler, which led to my eventual career after graduation working in sales, marketing, and distribution in the beer industry. My first job was in New Orleans working for AnheuserBusch and I spent six wonderful years in this special city before moving on to other positions throughout the South in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Virginia.

The pandemic afforded my wife an opportunity to move from the Northern Virginia area and we could think of no place we would rather be than New Orleans. Our move also allowed me to change careers and I took a position as marketing director for a local title company where I would frequently engage with the outstanding agents at Latter & Blum. It didn’t take long for me to realize I really wanted to be collaborating with clients directly as an agent and, shortly thereafter, I had my real estate license and had joined my new work family at Latter & Blum.

The same things that drove me in the beverage world now drive me in real estate. Client service is at the forefront along with hard work, developing marketing strategies, and managing processes, fundamentals that I found easily transferred to real estate. Through my own numerous moves and home purchases, I understand the process of buying and selling a home, particularly when it comes to moving to New Orleans. Every client and transaction are unique and understanding that helps me to guide you, whether you are looking for a home or selling your home.

On a personal note, my wife and I continue to love living in New Orleans and taking advantage of all the city has to offer from Mardi Gras and the festivals to all the wonderful food, music, and of course Saints football. In our free time, when we are not working on our historic home in the Lower Garden District, we love to travel and SCUBA dive. We have two young adult children and a very charming if stubborn French bulldog. In addition, I am currently developing my own Cajun seasoning that I hope to begin selling very soon.

Thanks for taking the time to read my bio and learn more about me. I look forward to earning your trust and business and will work hard to make the experience of buying or selling a home as smooth as possible for you
