Ed Petrie

Ed joins Compass from Sotheby's International Realty's East Hampton office where he consistently maintained a position as the top agent. With over 30 years of experience in luxury real estate, Ed is consistently among The Wall Street Journal list of the top 200 agents nationwide.

Ed began his career at the boutique firm Allan Schneider and Associates and subsequently founded Dunemere Associates with three partners. In 2000 he joined Sotheby's International Realty as a Senior Global Real Estate Advisor and Associate Broker. He is an acknowledged expert on Hamptons upper tier property from Montauk to Southampton.

Ed is a lifelong resident of East Hampton. His client base evolved naturally over time through his local contacts and an expanding base of customers and real estate agents, domestic and international, who refer him business. He maintains an even–keeled temperament, which combines with his knowledge of the nuances of local zoning offices and expertise at closing a sale.
