Emma, originally from a small town in Connecticut, took a chance at 21 and discovered the allure of Block Island’s community when she moved to the island one summer to work as a waitress, a house cleaner, a babysitter, you name it. Four summers and a winter later, she knew it was where she wanted to spend her life.

Having worked primarily in the hospitality industry for the last ten years, Emma considers herself a versatile professional. Working in restaurants and hotels helped her form relationships with people from all over the world. She has a natural passion for helping others, and her favorite thing about life is connecting with people.

Driven by her adventurous spirit, Emma backpacked through Southeast Asia, explored Australia, visited Sri Lanka, traveled across Ireland, and more. She previously served as the assistant to the Tourism Director for The Block Island Tourism Council, where she wrote monthly blog posts and managed social media accounts — an experience that deepened her connection to the island community and strengthened her love for sharing its unique charm.

Today, Emma combines her love for Block Island with her entrepreneurial spirit. She is the owner of Blocksicle, a popular popsicle shop on the island, and runs her own social media management business, helping other local businesses grow their online presence.
