Eric Scholl brings decades of Chicago real estate experience, a deep understanding of the residential and rental markets, and a genuine passion for helping people navigate important real estate decisions.

As President of The Apartment People, Eric carries forward a Chicago real estate company founded by his father, Bob Scholl, in 1984. What began as a rental-focused business more than 40 years ago has grown into a trusted resource for renters, buyers, sellers, landlords, and investors throughout Chicago and the surrounding communities. Eric has spent his career building on that foundation while continually evolving the business to meet the changing needs of its clients and the real estate market.

Today, Eric serves as President of The Apartment People and Team Lead with Compass, combining decades of experience, relationships, and neighborhood knowledge with Compass's technology, marketing resources, and national network. Eric and The Apartment People have been recognized as members of the Compass Legends Society in both 2025 and 2026.

At the heart of Eric's approach is something simple: he loves helping people and solving problems. Real estate rarely follows a perfect script, and Eric believes some of his greatest value comes from being able to listen, understand the situation, find a solution, and help his clients confidently move forward.

Eric has particular expertise in Chicago's rental and investment property market. He has represented landlords and property owners for decades, advising them on pricing, marketing, tenant placement, leasing strategy, and navigating Chicago's complex rental environment. That experience also provides his buyers and sellers with a valuable perspective on property values, investment potential, marketability, and what ultimately drives demand.

For Eric, real estate is a relationship business. Many of his client relationships span decades and multiple generations. He believes clients deserve honest advice, clear communication, creative problem-solving, and someone who will tell them what they need to know—not simply what they want to hear.

Whether helping someone find their first apartment, advising a longtime property owner, preparing a home for sale, or helping a buyer find the right home or investment, Eric approaches each situation with the same goal: understand what his client needs, solve the problems along the way, and make the experience as straightforward and successful as possible.

A lifelong Chicago-area real estate professional, Eric has a genuine appreciation for the character of Chicago's neighborhoods and the communities of the North Shore. He understands that finding the right home is about much more than bedrooms, bathrooms, and square footage—it's about finding the place that fits the way you want to live.

When he's not working, Eric is often taking on a home project of his own, spending time with his dog, Rosie, or pursuing his passion for photography and creativity. His interest in design, photography, and transforming spaces gives him a natural appreciation for the details that make a house feel like home—and an eye for seeing possibilities others might overlook.
