About Eric
A dedicated family man, Eric Tam cared for his grandfather during his final days of life. When the grief had settled, his father urged him to pursue something for himself. Tam entered into the world of real estate and has quickly become a rising star. Now Managing Director at Compass, he takes pride in helping others to build a new chapter in their lives. Tam explains, “Having a person look to you for guidance in one of the most important purchases of their lives is extremely inspiring.”
 
Citing a strong work ethic for his success, Tam credits his parents. “Watching my parents work day in and day out, never complaining and just doing.” He has taken their example to heart and now encourages others. “Don’t talk about it. It doesn’t matter if others do more or less than you do. Do the right thing and your turn for success will always come.”
 
Fluent not only in English, but Cantonese and Taosanese as well, Tam has strong familial roots within the Asian community. A strong supporter of those around him, Tam offers simple advice. “If you are asked to help, you provide what you can, time and effort.” Time, one of the most valuable of all gifts, is something that Tam focuses on with his daughters. “I love spending time with them and cooking for them.”

With several new listings coming to the market, including 1574 Beacon St., consisting of 3 large Brookline brownstones, 6 Claflin, consisting of 4 floor-through Brookline units and 4 townhomes with garage parking in West Roxbury, Tam is busy building his portfolio. “Keep pushing through.
