Windmill Lane by Jack Ceglic
Inspired by the practical simplicity of agricultural sheds, the design of the home is not only contextual and respectful of the landscape of the area, but pays homage to the farming communities of the East End. Jack Ceglic creates artistically beautiful spaces, inspiring homes that embody both form and function.
The Bonaguidi House by Horace Gifford
Fire Island Pines
A repeat client of Gifford’s, Lawrence Bonaguidi (a prominent attorney in New York City) commissioned a “tree house” which clung to a dramatic outcropping at the eastern edge of the Pines. The home is now available to welcome its next stewards, and carry on Gifford's design legacy in Fire Island.
Wallace K. Harrison's Summer House
Wallace K. Harrison is considered one of the great American architects of the twentieth century. Early in his career, he built a summer house in Huntington, where he did a significant amount of his design work.
The now landmarked home was built in the 1930s and has been lovingly restored into a modern day showplace by architectural firm SchappacherWhite. The home is set on 3.61 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, complete with a stunning circular salt water pool, an 8-hole golf putting course, and new Turf Tek surface tennis court. The hearts of the home are the three original circular rooms that are part of the central design element of this mid-century modern home. The circular living room, with original terrazzo & wood dance floor, was the model for NYC’s Rainbow Room.
The Y House by Steven Holl Architects
Located amidst the luscious greenery of the Catskill Mountains, the unique forked shape of the Y House makes an organic mark on a distinctive site with expansive views. The structure is one of world-renowned architect Steven Holl’s few, and revolutionary, residential designs.
Marcel Breuer’s Gagarin House
Designed by legendary Bauhaus architect Marcel Breuer, Gagarin I (1956−57) is Litchfield Connecticut’s most monumental Modernist residence, epitomizing the perfect marriage of art, design and luxury. Here is a rare opportunity to own a historically significant home that clearly articulates the simple and streamlined aesthetic of one of the 20th century’s most influential architects
Mid Century A-Frame by Jules Gregory
The prominent mid-century modern architect Jules Gregory has a unique legacy in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey areas, not unlike Frank Lloyd Wright, Louis Kahn, or George Nakashima. Gregory’s use of clean lines are seen all throughout this iconic home.
With more than a passing resemblance to the “Swiss Miss” A-frame houses of Palm Springs, this 1958 brick and glass house is a pioneering design for the Bucks County area, exciting and dramatic, sophisticated and serene.
East Hampton, NY
Do you remember the treehouse in your youth? It was a magical escape, simple, restful, a place to get lost in your thoughts. Well, now is your chance to capture that feeling again, surrounded by nature, with only the sound of the wind as it surfs the canopy of trees.
The Luby House by John W. Stedman
Oyster Bay, NY
When talking about the town of Oyster Bay and its history, as well as its list of famous local residents, one must include the name of John Stedman.
76 Cove Neck Road is one of the several residential commissions that Stedman was hired to design for a growing list of clientele, which included some of Oyster Bay's most well-to-do residents. This time, it was The Luby's, who called on Stedman in 1968 to help them bring their dream home to life.
Artist Beach Bungalow in Amagansett
This original 1900's fisherman cottage is filled with original charm and personality, and has been tastefully renovated and expanded by its creative-minded owners over the years. The main entertaining room has an open kitchen, white washed hardwood floors, loft-like ceilings, brick fireplace, and a living and dining area that are wrapped in walls of windows that overlook the yard's enchanted grounds and gardens.
A Designer's Farmhouse in Sullivan County
"Slipknot” is a bit of a unicorn in this area, combining the best of some different vibes into a cohesive Catskills lifestyle. Part country farmhouse, with “rustic” touches like sliding barn doors and whitewashed shiplap; part contemporary classical with high ceilings, open spaces and the staircase in the center; and a glimmer of southern style with its deep veranda overlooking the grounds and picturesque saline swimming pool, this property integrates these components into a dreamy and dynamic house.
