George Tollefson

George is a third-generation Realtor® whose family has been active in the local and regional real estate markets since the Great Depression. He grew up at a dinner table where real property was the main topic. With roots extending back 200 years in Newport and Jamestown he is a local’s local and enjoys nothing better than introducing newcomers to the rich and varied experience that life in Newport County provides.

With additional background in business consulting with the global firm of Price Waterhouse and an ongoing 30-year passion for real estate investing, George is more than comfortable discussing a wide variety of subjects and excels in quickly establishing the rapport necessary to effectively communicate the ins and outs of making real estate decisions in this historic, multi-faceted community.

In addition to residential real estate George has extensive experience in commercial acquisition, development, and management and has been active in advising many clients in their search for value investments in the community. This synergy often benefits the residential newcomer to Newport who would enjoy being involved in the community in a greater capacity.

On a personal note, George has many interests including oil painting, hiking, reading clubs, and cooking; he is a member of Newport Country Club, a founding member of the Raggedy Point Sporting Club, and is active in the Alliance Francaise of Newport among other organizations. He is involved in several local charities and believes that the greatest leverage for problem-solving is gained at the local level.
