"For 40 years, my elderly parents owned a historic commercial property in East Haddam, Connecticut, known as Society Hall.  The building was first erected in 1860, and it had served various purposes over the course of decades. My parents are antiques dealers and artists. Society Hall had served as one of their retail outlets for antiques, as well as a space for them to create and market their art. However, as time passed and as they aged, my parents needed to sell Society Hall. The building is a grand dame of East Haddam, but it was in need of much repair and renovation.
