"When we began house hunting, I was eager to move forward quickly. I got a referral for Gwen Janicki from someone I work with who had had a terrific experience buying and selling a house with her.
Gwen quickly keyed into and matched our sense of urgency. My husband and I both have busy schedules and she made herself available to us on weekends which is really the only time we had available.
We went house hunting with Gwen on our first Saturday together. The next day, we got a call from Gwen who was working an open house in Penn Valley. She said I think you need to see this house – it might be perfect for you. We came right over and loved the house, but we couldn’t quite believe that we would find the right house within the first two days.
We looked with Gwen every weekend for the next four weeks, but we kept coming back to the house in Penn Valley. We went back three or four times and loved it more each time. Luckily it stayed on the market as it happened to be a spring with a great deal of inventory.
We pretty efficiently made our way through dozens of houses. Gwen knows the Main Line so well that she was able to rule out homes there was no point in us seeing. Gwen really focused on our needs as a family, including the criteria we had for my mother who lives with us. She was incredibly judicious with our time, making sure that we stayed on schedule but had enough time in each place.
We enjoyed her company and really looked forward to seeing her each weekend. She was also great with my son who was quite young at the time.
It was a pretty incredible experience. Gwen made it relatively painless even though buying a house is a stressful process. She was also a consummate professional, and she really guided us through the process of both buying and selling.
Once we decided on the house in Penn Valley, the purchasing process went pretty well. The slate roof was the biggest issue, so Gwen arranged for a home inspector who specialized in roofing to help move things along, and also to ensure we had really solid information about the state of the slate.
I know this all sounds too good to be true, but it was pretty amazing. I will forever be grateful to Gwen. In fact, I drove by a “Sale Pending by Gwen Janicki” sign in Bryn Mawr just yesterday, and it made me so happy!" - Kristen

"Being new to the area and not knowing any real estate agents, we chose Gwen based solely on online reviews, and they did not lead us astray. Gwen found us the perfect home, in the perfect location, in a tough seller’s market. We wanted to act quickly so that we could be settled before starting our new jobs, but there was almost nothing on the market that met our criteria and those homes that did went quickly. Gwen spent her first day with us showing us houses that we had identified online as being of interest. Most of them were okay, but none were perfect for us.
