In 1982, Herb and Patsy opened Bayshore Realty in Waveland with two RealtorĀ® associates. That put them in the position to offer service to the buyer clients whoād built homes on the lots they previously purchased. Secondary, waterfront listings and sales became the foundation of the company. In 1985, Bayshore Realty joined the ERA franchise system, which led to the introduction of technology, national and international connections, and the opportunity to service certified relocation clients coming in and out of South Mississippi, specifically at Stennis Space Center. Growth and the expansion of branch offices on the eastern side of the Mississippi Gulf Coast came quickly. In 1999, Herbās son, Herbert, joined his parents in the real estate business.
In the spring of 2000, Dubuisson merged his company with his major competitor, Coldwell Banker Alfonso Realty, where he held the position of President and Shareholder. The consolidated firm became the largest and most successful brokerage in the state of Mississippi! Each year, from the conception of Bayshore Realty until Herbās retirement from ownership of Coldwell Banker Alfonso, his company enjoyed holding the largest market share in each Mississippi Gulf Coast market they served.
Herb's long and successful career was built on service to his community, his industry, and his alma mater. He has received nearly every accolade that the real estate industry awards. He has served as President of the Gulf Coast Association of RealtorsĀ®, as the associationās longtime liaison to the 5th Congressional District office, was named RealtorĀ® of the Year, and was inducted into the Association's Hall of Fame. Dubuisson holds the following National Association of RealtorsĀ® designations: CRB, GRI, CRS, and CCIM. He's completed Floyd Wickman's Sweathog training four times, Starmarkers Trainingāa follow-up to Sweathogsāand is an Installed Ninja.
He served his community as President of the Hancock County Rotary Club, where he was honored with a Paul Harris Fellow award; President of the Hancock Chamber, where he was honored as an Outstanding Citizen. He led the Mississippi State Alumni Association as its President and then served on the national Board of Directors. He has also been named a Patron of Excellence of the university. While his son was a student, Herb was given honorary membership into the St. Stanislaus College Alumni Association, one of only three men with that distinction. Dubuisson's true passion is service that brings hope to people who need it the most. He is a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Bay St. Louis and in Metairie. He and his wife both strongly support the New Orleans Mission and the Hancock County Food Pantry.
Having a desire to continue to help his longtime clients and friends in South Mississippi and continue making a positive impact in the communities he's served for the last forty-seven years, Dubuisson transferred his license to Latter & Blum. He works as a Broker Associate from the Bay St. Louis office. He saw the many benefits of working with the #1 company in the Gulf South and the #19 company in the nation, as listed in RISMedia's Power Broker Rankings. He also saw the strength in the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World affiliation. In 2020, LeadingRE outproduced every major franchise competitor in the United States alone by $39 billion, including the two brands he's previously owned.
Herb is now married to his longtime friend Donna Timken, and the couple splits their time between their Metairie home and Pass Christian condo.
