Strong Roots - The Dubuisson Story

In 1970, Herb and Patsy Dubuisson left their life in New Orleans, headed home to South Mississippi, and turned a part-time, weekend job into extraordinary real estate careers—owning the largest, most successful brokerage in the state’s history. From the start of their business, Herb and Patsy committed to “quality service with integrity” and “serving the communities they operated in to make them better.” The result was immediate success! From the first year in operation and throughout Herb’s career, his company enjoyed holding the dominant market share in every market it served. Herb quickly realized the importance of regional, national, and international affiliations, as well as Certified Relocation Business. The couple purchased an ERA Franchise shortly after opening. Two years later, Patsy was ranked the 9th highest ERA agent out of 36,000 for closed volume, internationally. She ranked in ERA’s Top 10 agents throughout her time in the network. The firm was honored for having the highest client satisfaction rate among all international ERA franchisees each year of the affiliation.

In 1999, the Dubuisson’s son, Herbert, joined his parents in real estate. In early 2000, Herb completed a merger with Coldwell Banker Alfonso Realty; Herb and Patsy were shareholders and executive leaders of the joint firm that now offered service and branch offices from state line to state line. Together, the merged firms accounted for one of every four homes sold in South Mississippi. Herbert quickly became the top-producing Realtor® in the Hancock County office and maintained that level of production throughout his time with the company.

Just days before Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Patsy passed away while on vacation. Following Patsy’s death and Hurricane Katrina, both Herb and Herbert dedicated their efforts to helping the Realtors® they worked with and the markets they served recover from the devastation. The following year, Herbert was named a 30 Under 30 Honoree by the National Association of Realtors®. Herb was named Hancock County’s Outstanding Citizen by the Chamber of Commerce and was granted membership into The Mississippi Association of Realtors® Hall of Fame.

In 2013, Herb sold his shares of Coldwell Banker Alfonso and retired from ownership. Herbert joined New Orleans-based Gardner Realtors® where he generated the highest level of production of any Gardner Realtor® in Mississippi, consecutively over the next three years. Herbert accepted an invitation to join Gardner Realtors’ leadership team in October 2016 and began managing the Flagship office of Slidell; the only office to serve both Louisiana and Mississippi markets. In January 2020, Herbert joined Latter & Blum. Attracted to the power of their affiliation with Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, who outperformed every major franchise in the United States by $26 billion, including the ERA and Coldwell Banker brands he had previously owned.

Today, both Dubuissons collaborate in real estate with Glenn "Chip" Gardner. They're proud to serve generations of clients across the entire Mississippi Gulf Coast and Metro New Orleans.
