I believe that people deserve to own a home where they feel comfortable, safe, and part of the community, and since I’ve experienced that in my life, I want to allow others that opportunity.

Which clients do I serve?

I especially enjoy working with families moving here for the top schools or relocating due to a job transfer. I can provide them the best advice on neighborhoods, schools, and community services, as I have been a very active participant in the past 26 years as a board member of the Orinda Chamber, Educational Foundation of Orinda, Miramonte Parents Club,  president of the Newcomers' Club, and chairperson for annual Orinda Action Day clean-up day. I enjoy working with buyers new to the area as I've moved many times - from New York/New Jersey, Boston, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach, Florida.

The senior population has very unique needs, and I enjoy working with them as buyers and sellers. I earned the designation of SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist) and learned how it’s so important to build trust with the senior and also with the family. I know that I have the patience to work at the senior’s pace and really listen to their concerns and help them to deal with a move which may be difficult for them. As a volunteer driver for Seniors Around Town in Orinda, I enjoyed learning about their interests and their past history. I’ve had experience in purchases and sales of condos and co-ops in Rossmoor, the premier active retirement community in Walnut Creek.

It’s a very satisfying experience to successfully navigate first-time homebuyers through the process of home ownership. Since many of them are close to my children’s ages, I feel I can guide them to make good choices, educate them throughout the process, and communicate well with them - often by e-mail and text messaging. My past clients have purchased with FHA and VA loans -- which are challenging but are good options for first-time buyers.

I not only work with buyers but can advise sellers how to prepare their home to look its best and price it to sell competitively. I’m proud of my negotiating skills and will use them to best represent my sellers’ interests. Having first worked as a banker in corporate trust and then personal trust and estate planning, I know how important it is to be a fiduciary for clients.

I'm glad to have my children in the Bay area and enjoy our family activities.  Our daughter, Allison, has been a principal, working for the Oakland school district, and is raising our 3 young grandchildren.  Our son, Evan, is a talented videographer and former musician. My husband, Gerry, is now retired from a career in finance and ownership of restaurant franchises.
