About J Douglas
A fifth generation kamaŹ»aina, Doug was born and raised on Oahu. Doug moved to the Big Island of HawaiŹ»i in 1986. As a scuba instructor he developed strong communication skills, and as a small business owner learned the nuances of doing business in HawaiŹ»i. Receiving his BBA from the University of HawaiŹ»i Hilo, he pursued his interest in agriculture, while owning and operating a retail scuba center; and after being involved in several complex real estate transactions, found his experience, knowledge and nature complementary to the business. Since 2003, Doug Beaton has been actively involved in the real estate market on the Big Island of HawaiŹ»i representing a wide spectrum of clients pursuing their individual dreams of either buying or selling HawaiŹ»i real estate. Doug has a deep understanding of the land, the people, and the culture. Faithfully active in agriculture, his family raises beef cattle, sheep, and fragrant orchids on the slopes of Mauna Kea. As a member of the HawaiŹ»i Farm Bureau , Hawaii Cattlemenās Association, Orchid Growerās Association of HawaiŹ»i, and president of the Parker School Parent Teacher Student Ohana, Doug remains very active and committed in his community. His background and experience has enabled him to successfully market and sell real estate ranging from high end luxury homes on the beautiful Kohala Coast to large agricultural parcels in East HawaiŹ»i. Doug understands what it takes to both buy and sell property and will do everything possible to make the dream come true.
