About Jack

I grew up around real estate and am proud to be a third-generation Washingtonian — a perspective that gives me a deep understanding of the people, neighborhoods, and nuances that make this area special. My mom, Ellie Shorb, has been a respected agent in the DC market for over 20 years and was my mentor as I learned the business. Today, I lead The Shorb Team at Compass, where Ellie continues to play an active role as an agent on our team and someone who reinforces the Shorb family brand to our clients.  

Our team is purposefully small which allows our clients to work directly with us — not passed off to other agents — and we are personally involved every step of the way. Backed by best-in-class marketing and transaction support, we are able to stay hands-on and deliver the high-touch experience our clients expect and deserve.

As a second-generation realtor , I’ve worked to not only carry forward the Shorb family reputation but to expand and deepen the agent network we rely on — helping our sellers gain early, high-level exposure to top agents and positioning our buyers to access exceptional off-market opportunities. I work tenaciously to quickly get a feel  for a client’s needs, wants, and style — and for crafting a tailored strategy to help them succeed.

Outside of work, you will find me on the golf course or tennis courts at the Chevy Chase Club, DC's Ned Club, or exploring DC’s vibrant food scene. I stay connected to the community through board service at St. Albans School (for which I am a proud alumnus) and involvement with the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors.
