James Hawver

In his 10+ years as a real estate agent in New York City, James Hawver has helped hundreds of folks buy, sell, or lease apartments and buildings throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. As a former professional reporter, James brings a journalistic approach to real estate representation, valuing fact over flash and the gift of listening, not gab.

Born and raised in Rochester, James studied journalism at Ithaca College and then worked as a daily newspaper reporter in his home city. After covering the Olympics in Turin, Beijing and Vancouver, he moved to New York to help produce an NPR show at WNYC Public Radio.

Being from Western New York, James like to claim that he became a real estate agent to fill his Sunday afternoons with open houses instead of torturous football games involving the Buffalo Bills (he is also, unfortunately, a fan of the Sabres and Mets). The truth is, that over the last decade in the real estate business, the greatest benefit of the job has been the opportunity to meet, help, and build relationships with so many extraordinary people including clients, many of whom have became some of his closest friends.
