Hello, I am Jessica Rutamu and before becoming licensed to help my clients find their future homes I was a graduate of University of North Carolina with a Bachelors in Psychology, a successful small business owner, real estate investor, and Portland, Maine native. My approach combines business strategy, investment expertise, and genuine relationship-building to guide clients through one of life’s biggest decisions with confidence.
Before transitioning into real estate, I spent more than a decade as a small business owner, leading a team successfully through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, astronomical inflation as a result of a large migration of remote workers to Portland, and a weakened labor market. That experience strengthened my skills in negotiation, problem-solving, communication, and staying calm under pressure—qualities I now bring to every real estate transaction. Whether navigating multiple offers, overcoming unexpected obstacles, or advocating for my clients’ best interests, I’m committed to finding solutions and delivering results.
I hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology from The University of North Carolina, which has shaped the way I serve my clients. Every buyer and seller has unique goals, concerns, and motivations. Beyond helping clients buy and sell, I’m also an active real estate investor, landlord, and renovation enthusiast. I’ve served as the general contractor on multiple full-gut renovations, managed both short-term and long-term rental properties, negotiated commercial leases, and developed an eye for interior design and value-add opportunities. I love helping clients identify homes with instant equity, strong appreciation potential, and long-term investment value.
As someone who personally relocated from Portland, Maine to Pittsburgh, I understand firsthand both the excitement and uncertainty of moving to a new city.
