Jim Mooney

As a lifelong Chicagoean, the pulse of Chicago is in my blood. Like Chicago, I am fun, active, loyal, and driven. I was born and raised in the Western suburbs and have been a resident of the Chicago proper since 1990. I attended Nazareth Academy in LaGrange Park for high school and then Loyola University for college. With this background, I have a vast knowledge of the areas between the South Loop to Lakeview and also the Northern and Western suburbs. My background is extensive and gives me a wealth of knowledge that is invaluable in my real estate career. I worked at the Board of Trade Clearing Corporation for 15 years and was on the technology side of a 24 hour clearing house, mainly dealing in systems administration and project management. I have also been a mortgage broker, which gives me an immense understanding of the market and its movements that many others are not privileged in knowing.I started my own boutique brokerage and have been in real estate since, never looking back. I always had a passion for real estate as my father was involved in flipping and rehabbing many houses on the north side. I am intrigued by the real estate market and how the market is constantly changing, so there is never a chance for boredom! My experience of being in volatile markets, including the housing crash of 2008, gives me a breadth of knowledge. It allows me to provide my clients with unique insight into market movements. The constantly changing market, as well as meeting a wide spectrum of clients and developing lasting relationships with them is what makes real estate my passion.

Work is not the only thing that gets me up in the morning. My daughter and my dog make it easy to get up every day! I am an early riser, and it’s usually my favorite time of the day. I love the early sun in the summer mornings when everyone is asleep and hitting the lakefront to capture the pure beauty of Chicago and Lake Michigan.When I’m not working, you will find me living an active lifestyle. I love running and will run an occasional marathon or race. I also love to mountain bike. Really anything outdoors! I’m also an avid sports fan with football leading the charge as my favorite. I love to keep moving and you will always find me walking with my daughter and dog or having dinner with friends.
