Real estate is in Joanie's DNA, having grown up in a real estate family. Before obtaining her broker's license, Joanie traveled extensively, sold securities on the trading floor, worked in the lending side of the market, and did finance work for high-net-worth individuals. Her real estate career began in 2003 at one of Austin's premier brokerage firms, where she stayed until she transitioned to Compass at the end of 2019. Her licensed assistant, Julie Denney, is her sister. With Julie's background in the title business and Joanie's prowess as a full-service Realtor, the duo works tirelessly for clients whenever and wherever they are needed. The drive to challenge herself and continue learning has earned her accolades in Austin's dynamic market. A native Texan, Joanie has lived in Westlake for 24 years with her husband, a high school science teacher, and their three children. An active volunteer in her children's schools, she is also a longtime volunteer for Young Life. Joanie embraces Austin's outdoor lifestyle. When she's not working, you'll find her in running gear or on her mountain bike enjoying Austin's trails.
