About John
John Bercsi has over 45 years of experience in the Los Angeles real estate market, having worked as a realtor, developer, home builder, property manager, homeowner, and investment property owner. As a native Angeleno, he’s deeply familiar with the diverse sub-markets across Southern California—from the Westside to the San Fernando, San Gabriel, and Antelope Valleys, as well as the South Bay, Orange County, Ventura County, the greater Santa Barbara area, and the Desert. Whether it’s starter homes or multi-million dollar estates, he has represented clients in transactions ranging from modest properties to $57 million estates, consistently generating annual sales of over $100 million.
For decades, John was the largest real estate developer on the Westside, specializing in high-end estates and historic property renovations. His notable projects include the redevelopment of the Buster Keaton Estate in Beverly Hills, the Harvey Mudd estate and gardens, the La Collina compound spanning Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and Los Angeles, and the renovation of the iconic 80,000-square-foot Hollywood Athletic Club. He has also restored and redeveloped properties designed by some of the most renowned architects in history, including Paul Williams, Wallace Neff, Gerard Colcord, Gordon Kauffman, Myron Hunt, Elmer Gray, Roland Coate, A. Quincy Jones, and Ray Kappe.
John’s career in real estate began at age 10, helping his family with their ventures by cleaning construction sites and handling maintenance tasks. In many ways, California real estate has been in his blood from the very beginning. A graduate of USC’s real estate program, his education further strengthened his passion for the industry.
In 2014, John partnered with top agent Carl Gambino, and together they’ve represented a wide range of clients—from celebrities and athletes to business leaders and first-time homebuyers.
Outside of work, John enjoys classic cars, vintage wooden boats, studying history and design, and anything mechanical. Above all, he treasures time spent with his family.
