My wife and I have dealt with many real estate agents before and have had mediocre engagements at best. However, John went above and beyond for us. John was always proactive in bringing us opportunities and never shied away from giving us his perspective and thoughts. We had a true advocate that we felt were truly representing our interests despite a very challenging market. John also introduced us to our great attorney (birds of a feather...). He was always available and very communicative but never wasted our time either. I definitely appreciated his no-nonsense approach and expertise in the market.

John is a straight up decent guy with no hidden agenda and no smarmy, pushy sales pitch. He doesn’t even come across as a realtor, he is so excellently low key. We bought our home in East Hampton and John, who grew up out there, really really knows the area and the market there. We spent a few months looking for a house with him and John was quick to point out what he saw as potential downsides to properties other realtors may have omitted to make a sale. Things we would have never known, like how a particular street was a busy bypass route in the summer. His insight was invaluable. We were looking to purchase a seasonal/weekend home and they were super helpful / patient throughout -- starting with a preliminary conversation when we were only contemplating the idea, all the way through to ironing out all final details with a tricky seller at closing.
John is a true local, having grown up in the area, and he knows all of the nuances of the area (home types, most desirable neighborhoods/streets, etc) and of course vendors. Both John and Cassie struck the perfect balance in terms of offering opinion/advice-- when asked/pressed, they gave honest, good opinions, but never tried to steer us in any particular direction as we weighed the various options that come up at multiple points in the process. The listings they showed us were on point with what we were looking for, and we actually went with a home that showed up in the first set of listings they provided us.
