Born in Delray Beach, Florida, Mr. Fazio was raised on the beach and in the ocean. He spent countless days during his youth deep-sea fishing along Florida's Atlantic coast and in the Bahamas, as well as in the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. He attended Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia, where he played varsity lacrosse and soccer.
Mr. Fazio was awarded a scholarship to attend Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he majored in public policy. He also joined the Delta Tau chapter of the International Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta at SMU.
In 2011, Mr. Fazio moved to Washington, DC, to take a job with Capitol Partners, Inc., a DC-based boutique lobbying firm. Spending much of his time working on naval, healthcare, and education appropriations, he was integral in the creation, organization, and development of the American Shipbuilding Suppliers Association.
In the fall of 2012, Mr. Fazio began working as a Realtor. His business focuses primarily in the resale and buyer representation of single-family houses in Crestwood, 16th Street Heights, and Georgetown, among other Washington neighborhoods, as well as finding value-add opportunities for investment-driven clientele. His past clients include prominent attorneys, World Bank employees, embassy staff, and well-regarded real estate developers.
In 2017, he and John Mahshie formed the Mahshie Fazio Partnership, which has been a top-producing team since it was founded. As Senior Vice President, he works with the Compass leadership and associates to increase their knowledge and understanding of residential and commercial architecture. He is also a contributing member of the Washington Mid Atlantic Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the practice and appreciation of the classical tradition in architecture and the allied arts, where he formerly served as the chapter’s National Coordinator.
Mr. Fazio and his wife Aida have undertaken two significant renovations and restorations of detached houses in Washington, DC’s, 16th Street Heights and Brookland neighborhoods. The projects comprise nearly all facets of construction, from underpinning and basement waterproofing, to building envelope improvement, full MEP replacement, kitchen and bathroom design and renovation, comprehensive interior design, exterior site work and landscape design, solar installation, and a detached garage to Additional Dwelling Unit (ADU) conversion. Mr. Fazio and his wife were involved directly with the architect, contractors, and the Department of Buildings (formerly DCRA) in the design, permitting, and build-out for both properties. Due to the quality of its design and finish, their ADU was featured by Reuters and Dwell magazine, among other publications, in May 2019.
The Fazios can be often be found enjoying Rock Creek Park with their daughters, Mila and Emma. They also travel annually to Mexico to visit Aida’s family, among other destinations.
