Raised the area, John Petrowsky has been an award-winning Realtor since the mid-1980s. He has a thorough knowledge of decorative art and architecture, giving him insight into the area's many interesting properties. Boston Magazine selected him as a “Power Broker” of the metropolitan region in 2004. The Cambridge Council of Realtors named him Realtor of the Year in 1994; Hammond Real Estate recognized his service to the firm's clients by naming him Vice President in 1992. He has been interviewed and quoted by regional and national media. For more than twenty years, he was the company's top producer among a field of over 450 agents. Helping a wide variety of sellers and buyers in multiple age groups has broadened his horizons and given him many meaningful relationships.
John holds a B.A. in English and History from Brandeis University, and an M.A. and a Ph.D. in English Literature from Indiana University, Bloomington.
He has served on the boards of cultural and philanthropic organizations. He has a long track record supporting organizations dedicated to children's advocacy, accessible education, environmental protection, animal welfare, classical music, historic preservation, human rights, civil rights, libraries, and museums.
