Jonathan Spencer is uniquely positioned to offer you a seamless real estate experience from start to finish. With a background in finance, strong ties to the community, and a trusted partnership with Compass, he has yet to meet a property he could not sell.
Jonathan began his career as an investment manager, mastering the ins and outs of client relationships and prudent investments. He eventually moved his business to the Monterey Peninsula, and it was here that he segued into real estate, closing over $100-million in sales since 2014. He received Rookie of the Year honors during his first year in business and has been a top producer ever since. Jonathan’s $28-million closing of Canary Cottage was the highest sale in Monterey County in 2018 and the second-highest ever in Pebble Beach.
His connection to the area started long before his work in real estate. Jonathan grew up visiting his grandparents in Carmel, making it an easy decision to move there with his wife and raise their two children. He calls it the most beautiful meeting of land and sea in the world. It is this passion for the Peninsula, combined with his background in investments, that enables him to better serve his clients. Whether he is helping to facilitate a 1031 Exchange or educating first-time homebuyers, the goal is always to help clients make the best financial decision for their future.
Integrity matters to Jonathan, and he has built his career on it. Past clients will attest to his honesty, reliability, and commitment to always do right by them. Jonathan has put his reputation on the line multiple times to help his clients win approval with the Carmel-by-the-Sea City Council. He has cultivated a network of trusted vendors, always offering clients a solution and a reliable resource to get the job done. When he tells you he will do something, it happens on time and at the right price.
This detail-oriented approach and strong work ethic were ingrained in him early on. Jonathan earned his Eagle Scout award and went on to captain his high school baseball and football teams. His leadership skills continued to grow as the Director of the 2008 Mitt Romney presidential campaign at Brigham Young University.
Sports are still an essential part of Jonathan’s life as both an avid fan and participant. He will be the first to tell you that he has a competitive streak, but he will also tell you it is not just about winning. It is about making the right deal, at the right time, for the right home.
Today, Jonathan stays closely connected to the local community, volunteering and supporting a number of organizations: Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program (I-HELP), Boy Scouts of America, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Tularcitos Elementary School PTO, Monterey Peninsula Ballet Theater, Salvation Army, Monterey Recreation, Carmel Youth Baseball, and the YMCA of the Monterey Peninsula.
