Julie Dunne

Julie is not just your average realtor. With a unique background in architecture and a passion for real estate development, she brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of knowledge to her clients in the Chicagoland area. Born and raised in Barrington, and having spent time living in and investing in various city neighborhoods, as well as Highland Park and Downer's Grove, Julie's deep connection to the region and its architectural heritage serves as the foundation for her success in the real estate industry. 

Julie's journey began with a strong educational background, having earned both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Architecture from the prestigious Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). She initially pursued a career in architecture, working in various capacities, including teaching and collaborating with her architect father. Throughout her architectural endeavors, she honed her design sensibilities and built a comprehensive understanding of the construction process. 

However, it was her venture into real estate development that truly ignited Julie's passion. After obtaining her broker's license, she quickly fell in love with the collaborative, emotional, and interactive nature of working in the real estate industry. While she continues to reserve design work for her personal projects and select clients, Julie's primary focus is on helping her clients find their dream properties and advising them on the intricate process of renovating, building, and repurposing properties. 

What sets Julie apart is her ability to connect with her clients on a personal level. She understands that real estate transactions are not just business transactions—they are pivotal moments in people's lives, filled with emotions and dreams. Julie approaches each interaction with empathy and a genuine desire to understand her clients' motivations, building strong relationships that often extend beyond the closing table. She values the friendships she has forged with her clients and fellow agents, recognizing the importance of a supportive network in the industry. 

Outside of her real estate endeavors, Julie leads a fulfilling life filled with diverse interests and passions. She relishes annual solo hiking trips to England, enjoying both the physical challenge of the route and being surrounded by a unique and wild landscape. Traveling with her family is another cherished activity, and they love exploring destinations off the beaten path, preferring to discover hidden gems on foot rather than following tourist guides. Next on her travel bucket list is exploring Germany, putting her language skills to the test. Julie's love for the outdoors also extends to managing a large garden and indulging in woodworking, appreciating the art of crafting and nurturing living spaces. As a parent, Julie takes great joy in watching her 2 children transition into young adulthood and has recently become a proud DePaul University parent.
