About Karen
Karen Kennedy is a marketing expert and real estate salesperson with The Ivan Hernandez Team. For Karen, being a real estate agent is the culmination of years of professional experience in PR and advertising, the realization of a lifelong love for architectural and interior design, and an overall passion for people. Karen knows real estate is about more than just property — each decision represents a brand new chapter in a life story and she’s here to help you turn the page.
Karen grew up in Connecticut and has lived, worked, and studied all over the world — after receiving her undergraduate degree in Communications, she spent several years in Geneva achieving her Masters in Marketing and then working. When she moved to New York City for the first time, though, she knew she was home. It was in NYC that she built an impressive career, first as a recruiter for Goldman Sachs and then in advertising and PR, where she created marketing and branding campaigns for high profile clients, including Broadway shows, boutique fashion houses, and luxury real estate developers. She’s lived everywhere from Brooklyn to the Upper East Side to the Hamptons and has always made the most of everything this city has to offer, culturally and socially. Her personal and professional experiences have given her firsthand knowledge of the corporate world, the entrepreneurial hustle, owning and managing investment, rental, and vacation properties, and everything in between. She has a drive for excellence and adventure and a constant commitment to improving herself, her understanding of the world, and her business. Most recently, that drive led her to pursue a certificate of Interior Design from the local and prestigious New School.
After Karen and her husband met (in New York City, of course), they had the opportunity to live in Vancouver, Cyprus, and then Florida, but they always knew they would return here, to NYC. They can’t imagine a better place to raise their daughter. These days you can find Karen actively involved with her daughter’s schools or out at their house on Long Island, spending quality time with her family.
