Buying a home is very stressful and time consuming. Kathy McClearn provided the perfect balance of guiding us throughout the process all while staying calm and reassuring. Kathy was always available for questions. She was honest and paid close attention to details from the very beginning.
When touring homes, she inspected the structure and pointed out nice details and imperfections equally. Kathy would also note the advantages and disadvantages of the location at each home we toured. She discussed renovations with us at each home and went through the pros/ cons- budget and taxes.

A Native New Yorker, Kathy McClearn grew up in Manhattan and is a graduate of Fordham University with a degree in Media Studies. After marrying her college sweetheart and starting their family she and her husband moved to the beautiful suburban town of Montclair New Jersey, where they have lived for 20+ years.
Kathy quickly got involved in her community in Montclair becoming an active member of the school PTA, and the Junior League of Montclair Newark. She served on the board of the American Red Cross of Glen Ridge/Montclair/Nutley, The Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence, The Montclair Scholarship Fund and the Montclair Film Festival as well as an active supporter of the Garden Club and the Montclair Art Museum.
She is familiar with both the public and private school sectors in the area and can offer advice and share experiences on both educational choices. She and her family were actively involved in the vibrant sports activities in the area including soccer, lacrosse, tennis, basketball and football and recently she can add pickleball to that list.
Her knowledge of the area and her ability to listen to and work tirelessly for her clients is an asset she brings as a member of the Compass team.
