I’m Katy, a listing agent on the Upstate Curious Team. I’m passionate about helping a wide variety of clients sell their properties, and pride myself on being a great listener, grounded, and a reliable helping hand in what can often be a stressful process.

I am organized and detail-oriented, and maintain perspective even when emotions and stakes are high. I can quickly evaluate each unique sale situation and find common ground, despite the challenges real estate can throw at you.

I got my license when I was buying my own home in Brooklyn in 2011.  I felt like I didn't understand the process and wasn’t happy with how it was being explained to me, so I decided to just get licensed myself. It hadn’t been the plan, but by the time I closed on my house, I was already working for a brokerage. 

I grew up in Lake Peekskill, NY and lived in Brooklyn for 15 years after college. I bought a small house in Mountaindale six years ago, and after a few years of weekend visits, decided that being upstate full-time was the thing for me! My little town has a tight-knit and welcoming community, and is near fantastic hiking and dining.

Prior to real estate, I got my MFA from Yale (*note: Katy didn't want to brag about this but our editorial team overrode her ;) to good use running a gallery in Brooklyn for several years, in addition to stints in the events and fine dining spaces.

When I’m not helping my clients sell their homes, you’ll find me gardening, hanging out with my dog, Bones, continuing to fix up my house, gardening, volunteering, or camping and hiking with my partner.
