About Keith
Keith is thrilled, excited and honored to announce that he has joined the Doris Benedek and Karen Whiton- Portugal team within Stribling at Compass.
Prior to joining Stribling at Compass, Keith worked for many years in his family’s fine and estate jewelry business on the Upper East Side where he had long-standing and trusted relationships with his discerning and distinguished clients. Keith has a sophisticated eye for detail, design, elegance, and beauty. In addition, he has strongly developed listening skills. Keith’s mission is to bring these assets to his work in real estate, helping his buyers find their dream home, and finding the right buyers for his sellers’ prized and beloved residences. Due to recent shifts in the economy, Keith thinks there are some very good opportunities now and ahead for buyers and investors to purchase in the city.
Keith, has had “the great privilege and fortune to live in this amazing city for close to 40 years.” Mr. Kahan is a graduate of New York University with a bachelor's degree in psychology, and he is also a graduate gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America. During his time in NYC, Keith has owned and rented in several of Manhattan’s storied
neighborhoods including the Upper East Side, Murray Hill, and the Upper West Side, where he has lived for the past 20 years, and has shared five of those memorable years with his wife. Keith has also invested in real estate in the Central Park South area and in Southampton, and has worn the hat of small landlord.
Outside of real estate, Keith is a fan of classic and independent cinema, and loves to take in a Broadway or Off-Broadway show. On the athletic front, he enjoys a pick-up game of tennis, or heading to the mountains to snowboard and ski.
Keith has a long-held “interest and appreciation for outstanding architecture and construction which runs the gamut from old world pre-war to innovative and gleaming modern edifices.” Keith has always had a penchant for discovering true gems, and it is his desire and passion to help you find yours.
