Laura Morningstar believes a home is more than a structure - it's a living container for creativity, restoration and the everyday rituals that make a life. Raised in the Bay Area, Laura grew up in Menlo Park where she was inspired by mid-century modern Eichlers, indoor-outdoor living and thoughtful design. That early immersion shaped her lifelong fascination with 'home' as the heart of safety and imagination. That lens shapes everything she does in real estate: the way she listens, the way she walks a property, the way she helps clients sense what fits.  

Having studied both Sociology and Psychology at CU, Laura is highly attuned to relationships and the subtleties of what clients truly need. She blends emotional intelligence with practical expertise, guiding buyers and sellers with clear communication, thoughtful counsel and a steady hand. Her clients consistently share that she listens deeply - then delivers, locating them dream properties that align with lifestyle, values and long-term goals.

Laura is also a working potter with a refined eye for interiors and architecture. She brings an artist's perspective to every home: light, flow, proportion, materials and possibility - helping clients see not only what a house is, but what it can become.

Her experience in sustainable building adds another layer of value. Laura helped co-found an ecologically conscious construction company in 2006, beginning with her own solar-powered SIPs home as the pilot project. That hands-on foundation gave her years of real-world experience in green building, sustainable design and renovation considerations - and it continues to inform how she advises clients today. She has a knack for spotting opportunities for healthier, more efficient living, and she loves inspiring homeowners to make practical, values-aligned upgrades over time.  

A Boulder resident for 32 years, Laura pairs local insight with market intelligence. It's no surprise she's devoted to a place so often celebrated as one of the country's standout communities to live, work, play, visit and build something meaningful. She's data-driven, known for sound judgement and a natural connector - bringing clients the right people, from contractors and designers to lenders and inspectors. Laura began her real estate career in 1998 and has experience across multiple property types and agency relationships, including buying, selling and developing.

She joined Compass Boulder with the original founding agents and continues to serve loyal clients with her Compass team who were voted the #1 small team in Boulder. Her humanistic, artful approach - combined with real market rigor - has earned her rave reviews and hundreds of millions in closed transactions. (And yes, she can spot a great property the way a potter spots a good clay body: by feel, by structure, and by what it's capable of holding).
